Holistic Technology Salon (2023)

The Holistic Technology Salon is an invitation to co-create alternative futures through multidimensional conversations. In a series of community encounters we will use different types of knowledge – rooted in corporeal and mystical practices – to weave new, holistic ways of being with technology. In a participatory setting we will explore how to integrate eco- and carecentric perspectives into our relationship with contemporary and future technologies through direct experience.

The Holistic Technology Salon is hosted by Annika Kappner, Ginerva Petrozzi and Sieta van Horck.

BEING with Technology
In the first event of the series we will engage in a conversation with the entity of digital technology through embodiment, visualization, multi-sensorial and verbal exchange. Together we will explore what the wishes of contemporary and future technologies can be outside the neo-capitalist framework, when we relate to technology not as the Other, but as an integral part of the biosphere.

RELATING with Technology
Your phone might be the first thing you see in the morning, and the last thing you see before you go to sleep. In the second event of the series we will collectively contemplate how technological devices live in our lives and what it means to constantly co-create our existence with them. Using embodied communicative and relational practices, we will enter into dialogue with our devices, exploring how we relate to them as self-organizing entities that we so intimately share our world with.

LETTING GO with Technology
The third event of the series will be centered around the idea of loss in the digital realm. How do we experience the loss of our Data? How can we say goodbye to loved ones’ stream of media, and devices that they leave behind? How do we disentangle ourselves from our data when we die? In this session we will witness and support each other in what “Letting Go” Technology might mean, and we will engage in exercises of disentanglement with our Data and devices.
